I bought this camera because i wanted the best entry level camera out there without breaking the piggy bank. I did a lot of searching, reviewing, and comparing other 2.0 Mega Pixel digital cameras. I came to conclude that the Cannon Powershot A60 was the way to go. I couldnt be happier.

The camera itself is perfect in size and style. It has many shooting modes, which is a plus if you really want to get into photography, you can play around with all the modes before you go and buy a more expensive camera. This camera for a 2.0 Mega Pixels takes surprisingly very realistic shots, so realistic that you are amazed at all the very fine detail that the shot produces. The movie mode is very fun to play around with, and it is pretty decent video quality, also since movie mode can record sound it is even better. It is nice to know you have a camera/videocamera in one when you need it. Just another plus that is fun to play around with. The camera is very easy to use. Anyone can pick the camera up turn it on set the shooting mode to auto with the switch of a dial, and bam you are ready to take pictures like a pro.

The resolution goes up to 1600x1200, which is more than good enough to make great looking desktop backgrounds for you computer or to take to the local photo shop to get developed ie: Rite Aid, Eckerd.
The shutter speed, isnt the greatest, you cant really go take a million pictures a second. But for the price the shutter speed is fine.
I do like the size and feel and build quality of the canon a60. It feels like it is built very well and is very durable.

If you do decide to buy this camera which i highly suggest, you should also get some accessories to make the experience of owning a digital camera even better.

128MB Compact Flash Card - best size for price
Battery Charger and atleast 1800 NiMh Batteries (Powerex Chargers are very good)
CF Card Reader - for transferring pics to PC without use of Camera (saves battery on camera)

Overall this the best 2.0 Mega Pixel digital camera in my opinion. If your looking for a very good digital camera under $200 buy this camera you wont be disappointed.
