Sony's A700 is the best semi-pro / pro SLR for the price.
Pros: Superb ergonomics, image quality, autofocus speed, and build quality. Compatible with Minolta lenses. Cons: AF points slightly dim in viewfinder, exposure automatically locks in multi-segment metering, fixed file names. Bottom Line: Quality product for the serious amateur photographer
Pros: Excellent build quality, view finder and LCD. Super fast/accurate Auto Focus. Cons: No environmental seals on battery/memory card compartments, No ISO info in VF. Bottom Line: Sony's Alpha A700 is a hit! [Updated Nov 2008]
