If you only have room to pack one lens!
Pros: Wonderful broad range. Sharp. Well made. Cons: EXPENSIVE. Heavy. Really stands out. Bottom Line: Eliminates excess lenses when baggage is limited
Pros: The expansive zoom range, the IS, & its surprisingly fast auto focus Cons: In my opinion there's no cons associated with this lens. Bottom Line: Terrific for many situations
